The work is led by Dr. Samuel J. Whalen, PhD, whose background spans applied research, defense and military contexts, and performance evaluation across complex organizations. The mountain has been meaningful to the founders’ family across multiple generations, with deep roots in East Tennessee and a long history spent hiking throughout the region.
